Dominican Republic
with 2nd Mile Missions
The trip of a lifetime
Experience the Dominican Republic with Wildman and 2nd Mile Missions. For all the beauty the DR has to offer, there is also plenty of need, and the greatest way to understand the need and see the impact of education and spiritual enrichment in the lives of impoverished children is to experience it firsthand. Awareness trips are a powerful way to learn, serve and make an even greater impact.
Cool Stuff: Enjoy time eating local meals, playing cards and furthering connections with friends and staff of the Education Center, House of Hope and Church of God for the Nations.
Adventure & Service

- Visit the slums and poor neighborhoods to meet the children and conduct bible study lessons.
- Complete a light construction or painting project.
- Attend local church services to fully immerse yourself in the local culture.
- Spend time praying for the Education Center, House of Hope, local churches and the people of the Dominican Republic with your team.
- Enjoy time spent eating meals, playing cards and furthering connections with friends and staff of the Education Center, House of Hope and Church of God for the Nations.
Awareness trips take place several times a year and are open to sponsors, donors and anyone who is interested in partnering with us or serving the needs of 2nd Mile Missions.
Common Questions
The places we will travel are generally crime-free during the daylight hours. A few things to remember are to leave expensive and/or fancy jewelry at home, do not walk down the public streets carrying anything valuable in your hand (example: cell phone), and do not leave the hotel without reporting it to a team leaders. It is critical that you never travel alone, but in small groups to ensure your safety. Should conflict occur, please walk away politely while saying I’m sorry to resolve the situation quickly.
We will spend time in the classroom working with students to create cards for their sponsors and participate in other sponsor-related activities. If you are a sponsor, you will have dedicated time to meet your sponsored child and further engage to build your relationship. We will spend time in the House of Hope playing games, making connections, and assisting them with projects. Our group will see the village, interact with the families and children there, and conduct Bible study lessons as a group. In the evenings, our team attends a local church service to fully understand and appreciate the culture.
